Woman Takes Taxi To Pattaya With No Money

Featured Replies

The story of a woman who took a taxi to Pattaya knowing she had no money in her pocket to pay for it.

An interesting case presented itself to the Daily Logs Clerk at Pattaya Police Station late on Friday Night. Police Major Poomiput took up the case involving a Bangkok taxi driver and his passenger. Khun Sawai aged 41 drives taxi number 5811 and was flagged down by a woman later named as Khun Doy aged 34 at the Bang Na junction in Bangkok. She told the driver to take her to Pattaya and a price of 1,500 Baht was agreed upon. They arrived at South Pattaya and the woman told the driver to stop. The driver requested the taxi fee which was not forthcoming. The taxi continued its journey to Pattaya Police Station where the drunken woman admitted she had no money to pay for the taxi and claimed that she had spent the night drinking in Bangkok and decided she wanted to go for a trip to the seaside. The woman presented a 1/4 Baht weighted gold necklace to the driver to clear the case but he was afraid it may be a fake. It was decided by Police that the woman should be incarcerated overnight until the gold could be pawned at a local gold shop. We understand the gold was indeed real and the case was closed.
