30 Day Visa

Featured Replies

I bought a return ticket to Singapore planning to get a visa while I am there but noticed 1st of Nov is Deepavali and I was wondering if I'd better change my date return 1 more day so as to get Visa or could I get back in without a return ticket. I am an Australian.

To get 30 day on entry visa, you have to have proof of onward travel within 30 days.

You are not likely to be checked at BKK. The biggest risk is that the airline will not allow you to board the flight to Thailand unless you have a flight booked out of Thailand within 30 days or a Visa

These are the facts, but I personally was never questioned by BA, Qantas, Qatar, Gulf or Thai.

Did you have a visa in your passport when checking in?

One time at check in, the staff referred to a supervisor as I only had one way.

I had visa and supervisor confirmed that I was okay to board.

Without the visa , I would have been refused

I have always had a visa, so never a problem for me

No. When I first started coming to Thailand on a regular basis to see my loved one never had anything but 30 days stamp. Not sure if or when going back so only ever got one-way. Never even thought about it until reading on here. Perhaps I've just got an honest face :o

I think you were very lucky DragonMan.

Maybe they weren't so hot on it b4, but they have been in the last few years.

Anyway, it certainly isn't worth risking it.

Last year returning from Manchester on Emirates (return ticket bought in Thailand), I was asked at check-in to show my visa (they couldn't find it in my passport). I pointed out my retirement extension but they had not seen one before therefore couldn't/wouldn't accept that it was valid. The supervisor was called but he too was not happy so they issued a "return booking confirmation", FOC, for a return flight 30 days later. The supervisor told me that they would cancel said booking the following day.
