Tat Projections Appear To Be More Of A Joke Than Ever

I have been to the following places since > Nov19th and the numbers of farang are weak at best.

Southern bus station - will go again today, but when i came up from Hat Yai, few farang

Hualalampong (2x) - as recently as yesterday

Pattaya - day trip only, but central Pattaya looked like a ghost town well into Nov. My hunch: intense 2.5 months and then back to the bottom, further.

Lonely Planet TT Thailand posts are weak

BTS/Asoke/Suk and OnNut does seem to have more farang running about than prior months - but that is to be expected.

See you in six months. im off to paradise

Not the same Thailand of a few years back. Tourism is booming and the new breed isn't the type that hangs out in central Pattaya. Life goes on and I don't see TAT numbers as a joke but maybe you know something I don't.

Tourism is booming and I'm told that Chiang Mai, for example, is expecting quite a busy high season. I'm not particularly thrilled by this as it will mean more people, traffic, congestion everywhere, higher prices....etc., etc. But bangkokburning has been predicting the demise of Thailand for quite some time now, so this new development will surely upset him to no end.

Yup. And people from 'farang' countries are only making up 1/3 of tourists these days, people like the OP aren't going to notice the ones that make up the majority now
