So I setup my slingbox after reading this forum most people, were saying it didnt work well.

Well, mine is playing my comcast back home fine, in low or medium quality, but in HD quality it is jumpy, but suprising, works okaysometimes.

What I'm wondering is, the problem at my house in the USA, with the upload,   or here in bangkok with my download?  I'm asking because there is a service that hosts a slingbox

for you right in a datacenter,  im guessing this might make the HD work, but I dont know for sure.

I'm also going to see about upgrading m true move connection from 6mpbs, to double that, I think my friend said they offer higher speed.

anyway

Without knowing your upload speed, the problem is probably on this end.  I upgraded from 2 mbs to 8 mbs, which usually gives me from 400 kbs to 800 kbs in actual download speed, and while the download is hardly tv quality, it is much better now.

Slingbox is a decent option, but if they could only work it to be able to download shows for playback later, it would be much, much better.  That is why although I have a slingbox to watch live sporting events, for tv shows, I generally download torrents and watch them on my tv.

yah, I am a perfectionist so I am obsessed with making this work...or moreso, just obsessed as to where the problem lies out of curiosity.

I think it is on this end (thailand) too.

so im gonna upgrade today, if I even can and see.

I have much better luck watching TV shows, movies, or sporting events that I have recorded on my Cable Company's DVR

Most of the time I will get that jerky effect from my US based Slinbox (AV)if I try and watch live TV, but that disappears when watching recorded stuff

My Sling Player shows an average of 580 - 600 Kbps on my 3BB Premier 5 MB connection in central Pattaya, and my connection in the US is a 10MB Cable connection, up from 5 MB last winter, and I notice no difference
