Police capture drug gang in Chanthaburi; drug courier at Suvarnabhumi

BANGKOK, Dec 7 – The police on Tuesday arrested an Israeli national drug dealer and his gang members selling drug to tourists and a Kenyan drug trafficker was arrested at Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Yisrael Krispin, 43, an Israeli national was apprehended in a housing estate in the eastern province of Chanthaburi. The police seized a car, a bank account with a Bt750,000 (US$25,000) balance and 100,000 Yen (US$1,200) in cash.

The arrest of Mr Krispin led to arrests of additional six gang members holding 150 ecstasy pills, 32 grammes of cocaine and 100 grammes of crystal methamphetamine, also known as ice.

Mr Krispin is wanted by the Thai authorities as a major drug dealer selling ecstasy pills, cocaine and ice to foreign tourists at entertainment venues in Chonburi, Trat and Bangkok, and he stayed at a hideout in Chantaburi. Arrest warrants were issued for him in seven drug-related cases.

In another case related to drug trafficking, Jill Jane Awour Ligawa, a Kenyan, was arrested by drug suppression police at Suvarnabhumi Airport on her arrival from Ethiopia’s Addis Ababa by Ethiopian Airlines. The police found three bags of ice weighing three kilogrammes in total in her luggage.

She confessed to drug trafficking, claiming an African man hired her to carry the drugs from Mali to Ethiopia before delivering it to a drug dealer in Thailand. (MCOT online news)

I would of thought KINGPIN would have little more then 750 000 in the bank not to mention few million in the house.

150 pills with few hundred grams of everything else is hardly the "big time" or the kingpin

They should have told the police that the drugs were for use in making Porn movies... they would have got bail and a pat on the back for aiding Thai tourism..!!!

If he was selling only to tourists, as claimed in the article, I have to wonder how the police discovered his activities since farangs are less likely to admit anything without a lawyer. And even if they did catch one farang who snitched ... did the suspected drug dealer keep a ledger of all his clients name? Point being I rarely see a news report where a local is involved in doing or selling drugs or any kind of sexual crime. I think Thailand would be crime free if not for us tourists.
