December 10, 201015 yr Hello, I entered Thailand via border crossing at Sungaikolok and was given a 30-day stamp (since I'm Malaysian) which will expire on 24th December 2010. I came to stay in Bangkok and enrolled in a Thai language school for a one-month intensive course which will end on 28th December 2010. What can I do to have my stay legal at least to the 29th December when I will fly back to Narathiwat and cross the border at Sungaikolok again? Should I make a border run to Poipet? Or can I just pay the fine at the Immigration office? Or can i apply for the 1900baht extension? Thanks in advance. __________________ Mail for iP4
December 10, 201015 yr You can get 7 days extension at immigration in Thailand. Bring two passport photos and 1900 baht.
December 10, 201015 yr Believe you would be better getting a 15 day entry with a quick trip to Cambodia for about the same price as the 7 day extension of stay as you do not have proof of exit ticket and that may be required for the 7 day under review extension of stay.
December 10, 201015 yr Author Thanks for the information guys. Is it possible to go into Cambodia and come back again after a few hours? i.e. In a single day? I have no other interest in crossing the border than just to refresh the exit date. Or do I have to spend a night on the Cambodia side? Thanks a lot.
December 21, 201015 yr Author Reporting live from Aranyaphratet now (hahaha. In the queue of 3km long). Doing the visa run now. Left Thailand, went into Cambodia, crossed the road, left Cambodia and now waiting for my turn at the Thai Immigration. They tried to scam me twice at Cambodia just now. One fella in uniform asked for 400baht for "VIP service to speed up my immediate return to Thailand" and the other at the arrival counter asked for 300baht for "coming and leaving on the same day". I politely declined both, with a smile, of course (thanks for the heads up from you good fellas at Thaivisa forum). Now got my extra 15-day social visit pass already and waiting for my 230 baht rot-tu ride across the road from Golden Gate Plaza to Krungthep's Anusawaree. Cost so far: Rot-tu fare - 460baht. Quick lunch at 7-11: 40baht. Amazon Coffee at PTT: 40baht. Yeah, I'm cheap hehehhehe
