Ebay Usable Credit / Debit Card In Thailand

Featured Replies

I have a web based enterprise that I wish to follow an idea through with..

The end result of the idea involves paying out many many small amounts (10 USD increments perhaps) to site users.. These users will primarily be in Thailand but hopefully all over Asia (lets worry about Thailand first)..

The backend programmers would love to be using Paypal as they have worked its API previously.. However getting money out of Paypal and into the hand of people in Thailand (not expats) seems problematic.

Do any of the bank debit cards available from normal Thai banks allow Paypal use (collection not payment) ??

Any further solutions around paypal ???

Last year when considering this idea I exchanged email with iKobo.. Frankly the difficulty in contacting them and some horror stories about them put me off but the idea of sending a debit card out to the collecting person was perfect..

At the time they informed me they would have an API (its still not public) for batch processing and we had some discussions..

Now however thier fees have jumped up to where the card carrier would be losing to much in monthly and transfers..

Alternatives similar to Ikobo ???

Low cost 'pre paid visa cards' an option ??

Thoughts and info gratefully recieved.
