Forthcoming Increase To Departure Tax ?

I have just heard a rumour of a forthcoming increase to the departure tax at Don Muang Airport ( and possibly other international airports in Thailand too ?).

Can anyone confirm the effective date of any price increase and the amount of the new fee ?

I would appreciate a reference to a news story if you have one.

I read about this a while back. The increase is supposed to occur sometime in the latter part of this year and the new departure tax will be 700 baht. I don't recall the new effective date and I haven't heard any more about this tax increase since the initial story, so perhaps it's been postponed(?).
