I've just sent a PM to another member and something flashed up to tell me the message had been sent, but I can't find any record of messages received or sent on my profile page.

Where can I find these?

PS. I went into Search for "Personal Messages", but nothing came up.

Sorry, I've just found it, under "Messenger" at the top bar.

Go to messenger on the bar on top of the screen with your member name. You should now see a screen with "my conversations". The title of the post you send should be on there. There you can find both the messages you send and the replies to it.
