Can I Get A 4Th Tourist Visa?

Featured Replies

Hello people. I am now on my 3rd Tourist visa. The last one I got in Suvannakhet Laos, The 2 previous were from Vientiane. My visa now is due on the 26th of this month (Sunday) and as some of you might know from my other posts I was screwed by the school I was just working for. They had promised that they would have the paperwork ready for me by the 24th so I could get my Non-“B” visa. Because I kept asking about it they fired me so now I’m stuck.

What I need to know is if I go back to Suvannakhet for ANOTHER tourist visa what do you think will happen? I have read another post where a guy was refused a visa because he said they told him that Savannakhet only gives 1 tourist visa per year. Anyone else heard or knows of a similar situation?

When they refuse you a visa do you still get to come back into Thailand for 15 or 30 days? I have been here for 10 years so couldn’t just NOT come back to take care of my things etc.

Please can someone reply or pm me so that I can prepare for this.

Should I go to another country like Cambodia or Malaysia etc? I’m not sure if Phnom Phen still gives 60+ 30 day tourist visas and the same with Penang?

Why not go to Vientianne and ask for a double entry there, if refused you can still try your luck in Sav, or go to Cambodia.

Agree with the above and you could make a visa exempt entry if no luck with the Tourist Visa, 15 days with a land entry, and 30 days if entering by air.

Thank you but the thing is I don't have money to be traveling over to Savannakhet or Cambodia. I barely can do the trip to Vien or Savan.

I don't need a double entry as I just want to get back and get another job that can give me the documents for a Non-"B" visa so no need to exit Thailand in the 60+ 30 days.

Beech guy, I have never heard of a "Visa Expempt entry". Are you saying that no matter what happend with getting a 60+ 30 day tourist visa, if I am refused they still issue a vis so you can get back into Thailand to deal with things/ I won't be flying so it would be the 15 day

Yes. A 15 day Visa Exempt Entry is what you get when you do not have a Visa.

Ok well thank you for that so at least I know now that they simply do NOT allow you back into LOS for no time what so ever. Now does anyone know or have heard about them refusing in Suvannakhet? I like using that Office because they were very polite and it was hastle free last time and also I very much like Suvannakhet.

I know that knowone can say for sure but just trying to make a quick decission. I think I will try Sunannakhet again. :jap:

THe visa exempt entry you simply get at the border from Thai immigration by showing up their and giving your passport. You do not get it at the consulate.

I did a visa run to Vientiane about 2 weeks ago I got a double TR no problem but a German guy I met on minibus from Udon Airport had 4TRs and he was refused and given a letter that stated due to visas being abused and people working on TRs.

i told him what I read about the Agents outside and he payed 3000B for a double TR to be picked up outside Consulate at 12am,when he collected his passport there was only a single entry and he was told that was because he had shown his face inside,he was refunded 500B.

I think you will have no problems,I heard a British bloke had 7TRs and his passport was stamped NEVER RETURN TO THIS CONSULATE AGAIN.

All the best

Just came back from Penang today and was refused a tourist visa because I already had 3 of them, dont go to Penang! That leads me to my own question of where do I go to get either single or preferred double entry within the next two weeks?

My understanding is that Thai Immigration is now enforcing a rule that you can only get a maximum of 3 consecutive Tourist Visas.

Immigration doesn't issue visas, that is done by Thai consulates.

Agreed. Consulates do issue them and Thai Immigration will make the extension. :jap:

Go with an Visa agent etc this one is the cheapest -> http://thaivisaservice.com/ From BKK to Poipet Cambodia.

Phnom Penh <- will issue a new TR with no hassle for you !

Does someone ry already like this way.

good point .

30 day visa exempt entry ,

this is the arrival form, visitors fill in on arrival by air ,

and obviously, fill in the reverse side, and hand back on departure .

many people confuse this with a visa . :jap:

from my experience, you are only allowed three visa excempt entries, a year . [officially ]

No, there is no official limit on the numebr of visa exempt entries you can use.

But of course they might question you if you do it for a long period back to back, to make sure you are not working illegally.

I used these guys for a trip to Vientane some time ago and succesfully got a double entry, after having 4 previous (although not back to back) but even then the van manager (italian guy) seemed VERY reluctant to gaurantee anyone success for those who had a few previous entries.

As it turned out, everyone on that trip got granted the double entires, but the guy had said he has had quite a few knock backs lately but noticed that they were mainly Phillipinos with 3 or 4 back to back double entries..maybe their reasoning is that they think a phillipino is more likely to be working illegally, than say a aussie or american tourist? who knows!

SO omega69...are you saying that phom penh will grant double entries ragardless of how many are already in your passport?

Also, did the company manager also warn you that he couldnt gaurantee success for the Poipet trip? the same as he does for the Vientane trip?

So i guess the question we should be asking is has anyone had experience or heard of any cases of people getting knocked back for a D.E in Phom pehn??

Meeshoo, I can help you with this but I am not back in Thailand until January... message me after 5th....

No, that's the arrival/departure forms and is not connected to the visa exempt entry. You fill those in whether you arrive with a visa or enter under the visa exemption rules.

And there are no offical limit to how many visa exempt entries you are allowed per year, many people have done more than three.
