McGregor told not to come in for a week after ex-pat writes bizzare poetry in his trailor:

"Production on Ewan McGregor's new film had been stopped after the actor received a shocking death threat from an extra on the set.

Shooting of The Impossible in Phang-na, Thailand, a film following a family caught up in the 2004 tsunami, ceased after a stand-in for McGregor was found in his trailer writing poetic death odes to the Hollywood heartthrob.

The poem, which described the actor's death, included the line: 'Twisting the knife as I look into your eyes.'

A member of local production crew Santa Films said: 'We could not call Thai police because the man had only written poetry, and they would be unlikely to understand. Instead there was no confrontation.

'The extra was told that he would not be needed for a week and he would be called when it was time.

'He was not called. He looked a little wide-eyed and preoccupied. The producers decided that he was a serious risk.'

However, the crewmember insisted the stand-in, an American man living in Thailand, was never on set at the same time as McGregor, although he had been allowed to use the actor's temporary trailer on the set.

The Santa Films employee added: 'I understand he later applied for a position on Scorpion King 3 which is filming in Thailand at the moment.

'I hope there is no further problem"

Poets are weirdos.

I never understood why at school we were asked to study the work of people who were obviously mentally disturbed drug addicts ...like if as teenagers we didn't already have enough mental problems on our own

With an attitude like that, there'd be no story's getting written and society would be a much darker place than it is now...

I guess Shakespear and Marlowe were doped up individuals too then?:whistling:

most if not all of the great writers were/are alcoholics, drug addicts, mental, or a combination thereof

(that doesn't mean the reverse is true) :whistling:

just goes with the territory, hard for 'normal' people to 'grok'

I just found out that this complete bullshit story is now international news. Way to go idiot who made this up. 10% of the facts here are correct, the rest complete fabrication. How the hell does something like this happen?

Can you elaborate on why this story is not true? It is all over the internet right now as being factual.

There's a good chance that they were actually. Drugs were widely available and used by all and sundry back in those days. Even cocaine was commonly used a a treatment for colds, not to mention the thriving opium trade.
