Unfortunately, its really hard to say.

It basically depends on the ticket and what you paid for it.

In general a discounted or lower fare ticket will have more restrictions...which usually means there is a fee for changing the date you are flying. It all comes down to the fare class of the ticket and the airlines rules.

If you bought the ticket on line, the info may be there. Sometimes however it is hard to figure out what the "small print" means...it can be rather confusing to read through.

If you purchase the ticket from a ticket agency...usually they can tell you what any restrictions on the ticket are. Of course, they make a bigger profit if they sell you a more expensive ticket with fewer restrictions on travel dates and times. Its up to you if you want the cheaper but more restricted ticket, or the more expensive but less restricted ticket.

So the real answer is call or visit the airlines and ask them. They will be able to tell you if they are going to charge a fee and how much it will be. Then you have to decide if the cost of making the change is worth it or not.

I understand why people always want the cheapest ticket...but you also need to consider what it costs to change the schedule or change the flight. Sometimes the cheapest ticket, with a lot of travel restrictions, isn't the best deal after all.

That depends on what type of tickit you have, busniness, economy etc. You should be able to find a letter on your reservation. s,e,p.... that show your type of reservation. there are many different types of economy tickets and they all differs in regards to rescheduling
