Visa Info

Featured Replies

by summer 2011 I want to stay in Thailand long term with a tourist visa. My plan is to arrive from USA with 60 day double entry TV. near 60 days extend for 30 days. Nearing 30 days go to Malaysia for another 60 day double entry and repeat. Can this be done over and over and over?? I have read yes, and I have read no. I am 62 but at this time do not want to apply for any other visa other than tourist.

Is my plan do-able?? Will each visa have a 90 day validity? I have read 90 days and also 180 days, which is correct?? are both available? With a 60 day TV can I arrive on a one way ticket?

I would like to have direct contact with people already doing what I am planning. If you are reading this and are willing to pass on reliable information I hope we can connect. Mis-information, out dated information, and confusing information abounds, I want to listen to the horses mouth.

thanks folks,

Such visas are not likely to be available in the local area after a few are shown in your passport. Most would only be valid for 90 days unless issued outside of the area where they may be 90 days or longer. Currently tourist visas are being denied at some Consulates for those with a record of frequent use and it is not expected to get easier.

You are aware that non immigrant O-A visa does not require funds to be anywhere but in your home country to qualify? That would seem the better option if available to you.
