Is My Dog Pregnant?

Featured Replies

In the last few weeks my 9 month old pit bull's teets have balooned a little. Not massivley but extremely noticable. A friend of mine even asked me today "who did I mate her with" thinking that she looked pregnant.

5 minutes ago I just gentley squeezed her teet and a little milk came out of one.

I am very piss_ed off about this as I took her to my vet 2 weeks ago for a regular check up and pointed out the swelling teets. He said "yah its normal actualy they will get bigger". He mentioned NOTHING about her being pregnant so I assumed she isnt.

But now with the milk..... Surely she is?????

Any ideas?

No need to reply to this - had her checked today.

Cripes. Not a very lively section of the forum is it! :whistling:

It could be either she is pregnant or false pregnant.

My late boxer became false pregnant about two months after being in heat with swollen tits, milk, nesting tendencies, and she only settled down after I exchanged my (beeping) phone for a squeaky toy. :)

clockwork, actually we are very lively but we are in different time zones some of us and also working; like nienke says< either she is pregnant so maybe the vet thought u wanted to have her pregnant so just told you that she is , since she is starting to ahve milk etc; or she is haaving a false pregnancy (funny, nienke, also nala (rip, boxer girl) had one falsie: collected socks and slippers to mother. lilee had one false pregnancy, and mothered underwear :bah: ....

ifu really wanted to see, u could have done an xray...

so,

is she

or isnt she? 9 months means that she went in to heat at around 7 months, got had by a stud, 63 days later, u've got pups....

so, yay or nay?
