When i travel abroad i always use my thai licence to rent a car ( one reason is that if i get caught by a radar they send the fine to the dealer but can never withdraw points from my licence:))

Last time i was in the usa and rent a 1200cc harley showing my thai driving licence motorbike.

I was wondering if in thailand you have different levels of licence depending on cylinder or horse power like in france for exemple?

Short answer...............NO.

BUT i actually think that they should have a different licence for bigger bikes... The fact that the insurance has more than doubled for the Kawasaki Ninja 250 tells me that the accident rate must be fairly high.

(either that or all the Ninja racers are having lots of accidents just outside the BIRA race trackwhistling.gif)
