unclekleef
Ever since I have been here, I have been getting what I presume are insect bites on my ankles. Usually in the kitchen, but not always. I cannot see any insects, and it is definiyely not Mosquitoes. Would appreciate any help
petercallen
The mosquitoes here are much smaller than they are in Aussie, there are two types one very small and normal size ones Its the small ones biting your ankles,
Carib
Sounds more like sand fleas, impossible to see but present. Several topics on this phenomena.
stevenl
I would also guess sand fleas.
Peterocket
Sand fleas in the kitchen? I would guess at the small mosquitoes. They give me good target practice with my electric tennis racket ....
barka
Another form of bites are the mites that live in the bamboo..

KarenBravo
Why don't you use a spray on insect repellent?
F1fanatic
Sand fleas or those tiny ants. How long does the itching last? If its days - its sand fleas.
transam
I get them by my desk, nowhere else, spray, do all that and still get them. Can't see them but. Smear tiger balm around your ankles, does put them off, what ever they are. .

The only way to put them off is to use the GOOD mossie repellents on yourself - they work for sand flies and most other things in my experience. The cheap mossie coils work to a certain extent too. A pain in the neck, but worth it.
kirmizi
I used to get bitten on the feet and ankles a lot and never saw what was biting me. Now I wear socks and hardly ever get bitten.
