im doing as fiancee visa as some of you will already know. is this classed as a settlement visa (VA1F4), and is this the form i should fill out? i want my partner to come to the uk as my fiancee and then we will get married within 6 months and then apply for an extension. I did think maybe i could do a marriage visitors visa but i dont think you can apply for a extension after were married. is this true?I

Yes, it is the settlement form, VAF4A, that she completes if she wants to enter the UK as your fiance and then apply for Further Leave to Remain in the UK after your marriage.

You are correct, holders of a marriage visit visa cannot remain in the UK once their visa expires, neither can they extend it beyond 6 months nor apply for settlement whilst in the UK.

hi, would my partner need a certificate of approval also?

The certificate of approval is not required the visa itself is your permission to marry (subject to meeting the criteria ) .
