Perhaps you can look into quoting stats from the the OBR - who produce official statistics for the government. Those clearly indicate that low skilled migrants consume hundreds of thousands more in transfer payments than they contribute to the UK economy. That's aside from all the social costs of uncontrolled migration such as strain on public services, population density, lack of social integration and the like. Not the narrative the BBC and Grauniad like to offer up. Companies like Dominos Pizza love these types - pay them minimum wage, the rest of their incomes and benefits are propped up by the government i.e. funded by taxpayers like myself. I recall the CEO of Dominos begging the Conservative government not to increase the minimum work permit salary because it directly threatened their business model. Though it only seems to have partially worked - my local barber in the UK is entirely staffed by Kurds all from the same village, all with families in tow, and I have to wonder how they are/were all earning enough to qualify for a work permit cutting hair and why there was no option of finding someone in the UK to earn £37k plus to do it...more like a temporary fiddle via money laundering etc. until they got ILR -

Chomper has a selective memory as you've surmised. Only ever turns up on politics threads on this forum to defend the cause of socialism - highly predictable in that regard 😄 They did indeed talk about "smashing the gangs" when campaigning for election and rightly criticised the abject failure of the Conservatives in this area, while conveniently forgetting they opposed every initiative to try and stop illegal immigration including the Rwanda scheme (which they half tried to resurrect via Albania and were told to FO, Italy have that one sewn up :D). Starmer talked about "smashing the gangs" - absolute BS as everyone knew, even the ex head of the Border Force said so in an interview. Starmer and co. are clueless - the best they can come up with is a 50 in, 50 out per week scheme - on a trial basis. And expect the UK public to see that as a win. Hardly when some days we are seeing nearly 1000 mostly men of fighting age, who are economic migrants from alien cultures masquerading as refugees, pitching up in the UK fully briefed on what they think they can expect from the govt. Truth is Starmer has no real plan. Expect more social unrest as time goes on. -
