Muay Thai

Looking for info about Thai boxing in Pattaya and in BKK. Specifically, do most tourists pay the 1500 baht for ringside in BKK stadiums? And is there any stadiums in Pattya that show same quality as in BKK? Ticket prices In Pattaya??

Be careful about Muay Thai in Pattaya if you want to see the real thing. Even in Bangkok a lot of what you see at some stadiums is only for show. Ticket prices should be about the same as BKK attracts a lot of Muay Thai fans. Ringside seats in BKK are usually 1,000 unless it's a huge event with top level fighters which in that case can run anywhere between 1-2,000. There are a couple famous boxing camps which accept foreign trainees in the Pattaya area if you're interested. One is called Sitpholek. Go to www.sitpholek.com and click on the English link. The owner's name is Frank and I believe he's Dutch. Good luck in your search! :o

The one's in Pattaya are, shall we say, dubious. Good fun though. I think the one's as you enter Walking Street are a bit of a joke and for entertainment. But there is one a bit further down Beach Road in a Bar complex, maybe about Soi14 area, it's a bit more realistic but watch out for the guy who leads the odds for the gambling. These are all free to enter, you just need to buy a beer. Not heard of any stadium type events though.
