30 Days Stamp Visa Runs

Featured Replies

Hello, i'm from Russia and already stay in Thailand about 2 months. And i want to stay 2 months more.

I entered Thailand 13 nov, made 1st visa run at 11 dec and 2nd visa run at 8 jan. Now i have stamp until 6 Feb.

So when i go visarun to cambodia at 5-6 feb will they extend it for 30 days more? Is there a 90/180 rule for Russians?

The woman in visa service office told me Russians can make unlimited visa runs(extend 30 days stamp unlimited times) to stay long time in thailand, is that true? Is there a possibilty if Thai custom will ask me for ticket to another country(i did 2 visa runs and they never asked, but i'm not sure if that is always same way)?

Thanks in advance

No, there is no such rule.

There was one in the past, but that one didn't apply to Russians. You are granted 30 days upon entry under a mutual agreement between Thailand and Russia.

So am I right to understand that I we go for 2nd visa run now - we get another stamp for 30 days?

At immigration office at Chiang Mai the gut told us 15 days (but he didn`t know we are from Russia)....

Yes you will get 30 days - most people only get 15 so if that is what is stamped ask the officer to check again as your passport allows 30 days.

If I read the rules correctly -- you get 30 days at an airport and 15 days if you come in by land, and that is borne out by my own experience. ;)
