Nfl In Pattaya

There are several bars in Pattaya owned by Americans but it would seem all of them prefer music to the commentary of the game, and most sports type bars aren't open in the wee hours such as Shenanigans on 2nd Road which is a great place to watch the replays that same evening, but if Simon the Manager (a former player himself) isn't there, the staff will not let you listen to the commentary because they prefer the music. This is almost par for the course in Pattaya. Does anyone know if there any air conditioned place in Pattaya that is open and shows the games live with the commentary??

There is an American owned bar in Jomtien, Rich Man Poor Man, I think it is on Soi 9, and only about 25 M down the soi on the right from Beach road. He will definitely be showing the games. You will have to stop by and ask about times.

Eddie's 'Richman Poorman' will be open, as noted above, for all games. However, be advised that the Super Bowl will be by reservation only. Great American food there, too. Try it this weekend to see how it goes. He'll also be showing all of the replays on AXN channel. NO music when the games are on!

I can also suggest a short trip across Sukhumvit to "The New Inn". It's about 1 Km past the RR tracks, on your left. The owner, Gary, is English. But he has a large American clientel, and shows all the replays of games. I don't think he'll be open for any 'live' games, EXCEPT those that start at 8 AM. Also great food there! Like Eddie, Gary will have the game audio on.

Over the years I have seen Major League baseball and some NFL games at two of the bars down in the Simon beer bar complex near the southern end of Walking street. As I recall though, the NFL game was not "live" but was taped and I have no idea what connection or service they were running.

Two points, if I may, CiaoCiao. First, there is no need to tape games to show later. The NFL games are carried on the ASN Channel on TrueVisions. They replay them several times during afternoon and evening hours for several days after the game has been played. Bar owners (and anyone else) can simply check the schedules, and plan accordingly.

Second, we should consider the fact that many NFL fans are dedicated to the point of wanting to see the game 'live', to avoid learning of the result before a replay. Should that happen, the emotion is certainly taken out of theexperience.

And they are welcome to their preference, as I, and at least 5 or 6 other guys, are welcome to ours. :whistling:

Meanwhile, THIS question from the OP addresses the game of American Football. I must have missed the request for snide replies from those who are not fans of that game. Why not just watch and enjoy your game, without criticism of another thay you don't understand?

I never said it was mine just stating the truth as it is in Thailand. Most and I mean the majority of all viewers in Thailand are soccer freaks.:o BTW I watched the games the other morning on Soi 7, no problem just ask. As for this morning I watched at home .So to the North American snobs that can not take a joke or hit :P I'm also a 49er life long fan and I mean before they joined the NFL.
