Kindergarten, But Only For 4 Months

Hi,

We are moving to Bangkok for 4 months with our 2 children (2 and 4 years old).

Any recommendations on a good kindergarten in Sukumvit area - or Sathorn/Silom.

Our children speak Thai, but it would be excellent if the kindergarten is bilingual (and doesn't cost a million baht a month per child).

Thanks.

Thanks.

We have done a Google search, but everything we find is clearly minded expats with loads of money. What we are looking for is a kindergarten that targets Thais who want to give their children a bilingual education.

All the schools mentioned above are around 300k; you would be a fool to spend even half as much at a bilingual school as the quality of education in ALL of them is quite low as it is a flawed system with most staff being poorly qualified.

First steps International Kindergarten, Sukhumvit 43.

Kiddycare, Sukhumvit 26.

Ladybird, Sukhumvit 39

Melodies Kindergarten, Sukhumvit 38.

There are a load more as well. You could do a google search..

This is true, there are loads more besides these. They may seem expensive, but being as you only want to go for 4 months they may be able to offer you a special deal (e.g. waiving the entrance fee, if there is one), especially as you have 2 kids you want to take there.

There are also a few options for daycare centres which are basically just loosely organised play centres, and so wouldn't be an option for long term - but the advantage is you can just turn up and pay day by day. Your 4 year old might be too old for this kind of thing though. Anyway, www.kidothailand.com is one such place with a few branches around the Sukhumvit area.

For a Thai bilingual school, I'm not sure if they would just let you go there for 4 months, they might want you to sign up for a whole term or year. Anyway, you could try www.amnuaysilpaschool.org which has a good reputation and might be in your desired area.

This might also be of use - www.bambiweb.org.
