No Electricity

Featured Replies

Just had the following flash from my condominium management.

NO POWER (Jomtien soi 6-12)

No power in Jomtien area on Jan 20, 2011 from 08:15 - 17:00 hour.

The Regional Power Authority of Jomtien is going to upgrade their electricity distribution line.

Two month ago they needed nearly 2 hours longer to finish there work. Lets hope they are a little faster this time.

another great reason to live in Chomtien............

This is crazy. There's absolutely no reason for such a long planned outage.

The last time they dug up the old poles, before they installed the new ones. Any normal power company, would install a temporary supply route, possibly on the far side of the road.

Then take out the old poles and cables. Put in the new poles and cables, transformers or whatever. I hour per connection change, should be more than adequate.

But this is Thailand.

Sure is, always good to have an upgraded power supply !

Might be related to the new Thappraya Rd/ 2nd Rd construction. The electric and phone lines are to be moved under ground. If I recall that was one of the excuses for the delays in construction. The wait for PEA to install electrical control junction boxes.

AMAZING THAILAND :whistling:

Mai pen ray .AS long as its back by March when i go down there again .

Power came back at 6.10 pm. They did it exactly the same way again. Shut down, take out old poles. Install new poles and rewire. I counted 20 cranes, all with electric company orange colour.

Yes, we had another crane convention in Jomtien.

Amazing country.
