Rimmer
In through the out door: Highway 7 drivers create own, dangerous solutions to missing ramp problem PATTAYA: -- The government’s puzzling failure to add on- and off-ramps to both sides of the Highway 7 extension continues to wreak havoc with traffic as motorists drive the wrong way and police can only issue tickets. Phil Conners
Isn't this the Basjke Exit? Why don't they just wake up and make those missing exit and entry ramps? Edited January 23, 2011 by Phil Conners
raro
It's the only way to do it. Get out through the entry Calculating risks...I believe it is far safer taking the highway and exit the wrong way than going soi Siam Country Club and encountering all sorts of motorcycles without light, the mobile soup kitchen with broken light and the lone bicycle rider who doesn't even believe that lights are available for his vehicle. Add the pick-ups with disco in the back overtaking where you shouldn't, I take the "Basjke Exit" any time!
pipo1000
Believe it or not but not so long ago I saw a 50 seater tour bus taking the exit.

timekeeper
Isn't this the Basjke Exit? Why don't they just wake up and make those missing exit and entry ramps? the problem is that in the original design there was to be a toll booth sited before the Pattaya exit they did not want traffic entering from Pong to avoid them building and operating a toll ticket issuing station nor did they want them clogging the system which was intended only as a fast route for tourist traffic it was not meant for locals to use so unless they close that junction altogether this is it for now and obviously not for the faint hearted
Phil Conners
Well obviously the plans have changed. There are no toll stations, nor does there seem to be any plans for adding any, so why not face reality and make the missing ramps. Even if they would at some point add a toll booth it would probably be around where the motorway merge with the Rayong bypass, and traffic between Nongprue and Pattaya should be irrelevant. Tokay
Hmmmm. I wonder how bad Khun Whateverhisnameisporn would lose face if he had to admit he messed up and had to built the correct ramps. Or, as it usually goes, someone swindled a lot of the money and they had to skip some.

pipo1000
Today at 7.30 PM I passed the entrance alias exit just when a motorbike is using it as an exit.......................Hey what is that written on the back of his vest.....yes it is POLICE in nice fluorescent letters. By the way saw earlier in the day that a sergeant somchai has been hidden along the road beside the highway and hands out surprise tickets to people who use the exit. raro
Good news! there are construction works under way to end this nonsense and we will have an exit ant entry ramp any time soon. Will this put mr. Monchai out of job this is the friendly high way patrol policeman who stopped me numerous times and even fined me here and there....
