I'll look for the name of the agent I used. Super-easy and no regrets.

I walked out of the US Embassy and was looking for a translation shop nearby. I walked 1 block North and crossed the road to a shop. They did the translation and made all the running around to the government offices for me, for 5500 baht. They met me the next day at the Ban Rak Ampur, did all the paperwork, moved me to the front of the line, blah, blah...

Well worth it. Who can bother with the hassles, thats why we have money.

It all depends what you like spending your money on. Id rather save that money and buy a nice reel or something like that :D I do everything what i can myself unless it would cost me too much time.

Sounds very reasonable.

Nope. I am in Chanthaburi, down on the East coast. We were planning on making it a quick two-day trip to get the paper from the embassy, translation. Then next day go up North of town to get the government paperwork and then come home and register.

I found the one-stop shop place, so we were able to relax and enjoy the city.

My wife however is 100% in your camp on this subject.
