Looks like the tour operators are making nice money from the scam as I am pretty sure none of the 30% discount will be passed on to tourists.

Exactly, seems all parties were on the take... only speaking up now because it doesn't make any difference...

Reality is complainers are too lazy or not smart enough to find the Thai ways of doing things and just because it is not their way back home it must be wrong. I would prefer they shut up or ask instead of moan n beach.

Blah blah blah. People seem to have a lot to say about the government of Thailand. I often find myself wondering why they are here. Based on what I read here here anywhere would be a better place to live. Why the constant complaining?

The petty complaining also irks me, but I don't see anyone complaining about how much better another place is to live in this thread, and it's not the Thai way of doing things. What many newbies (and folk who don't really know what they're talking about, ^^^^^) don't realise, is that many Thai's are equally disgusted and fed up with this type of NON-BUDDHIST carry on. In their eyes, your way of non-thinking puts you in the same camp as the dodgy officials.

dam_n right! Stupid farangs can't just do things The Thai Way -- which is what .... Look the other way and pretend it's not happening!!

The nerve of these farangs.

The funds generated through National Park entrance fees should be revenue that is poured back into the costs of preserving and maintaining the flora and fauna of that Park. Whether it be marine or terranous, I havent seen these money being put to good use. Maybe some (ample) rubbish collection and the ticket they give us when we enter. And may I stress that it is TRUE!! I have never been issued a ticket when I went diving at Marine National Parks. Except for Samet where it is polluted and I wonder which other National Park allows umbrellas to cover up beaches and scooters out for rent on beaches where people sunbathe and swim. This is getting very annoying. Every I mean, EVERY government department is corrupt. Every department and every party. Not one clean party to rid them all of corruption.!!
