Something to behold: http://www.komchadluek.net/breaking/read.p...en&newsid=79065

I think it is safe to say that poorly spoken English is the main driving force of world trade and international relations.

In the piece referenced, the reporter performed honorably, and deserves credit - all the key facts are there, and the reader has a fairly good idea of what happened, where, and when.

The editor of the on-line edition of the paper - on the other hand - should be taken out behind the building and shot.

Cheers!

Quite curious... not sure, but somehow it seems to make a difference if The Nation articles are accessed through the website:

http://www.nationmultimedia.com

I've never once seen an article through there that was as butchered as the cited article was. There's certainly the occasional grammar/spelling/syntax error, but no where near the degree of the cited article.

More bombings in the South

Published on Sep 01 , 2005

Suspected militants set off four more explosives early Thursday in a series of bombings, shootings and arsons across the South which killed at least one person and injured 28 in less than 48 hours, police said.

A mobile phone triggered bomb wounded eight people in downtown Narathiwat on Thursday, while other explosions in nearby districts wounded two police officers and two teachers, according to police.

The bombings followed last night's series of coordinated bomb attacks where suspected militants set off six bombs, attacked military outposts and burned village homes, officials said. At least one person was killed and 16 wounded.

I realize they're dated differently and the descriptions are not exactly the same as each other. Not able to find the exact same story on nationmultimedia website as the one posted.
