In your article you cite someone: "There is no gay mafia in Phuket". Well, it might be right, until you try as farang to do whatever in this area. For example, if you open a restaurant, you will be the first to pay "cooking-on-gas-tax". Try to get into the most lucrative part of the business, one of the bars with "dancing shows", soon you will find out, why there are basicly two people running the whole lot of bars. Even worse, if you dare to open a snooker bar, it won't take long until your staff will get beaten up, if you don't accept the offers of someone wanting to buy your business. There is more, and thanks god it never happened to me, just to very close friends of mine...
