January 26, 201115 yr Hi, I've looked all over but I can't find anywhere offering open Canadian canoes for hire in Thailand/ I've never seen them in Thailand before but thought I would ask here anyhow. If not, can anybody recommend a sea kayaking (sit in) company in Thailand as am looking to go for a paddle. Thanks! Fred
January 26, 201115 yr Being an American Indian, I naturally love canoeing also and looked for one here and so far only place I find that makes them is in Phuket, which is a long way from Chiang Mai of course. In CM you can rent kayaks for 100 baht. However I did find some websites of places that sell sea kayaks, including the place in Phuket with canoes.
January 27, 201115 yr I did a kayak trip with John Gray's company in Phuket. It was fantastic. I think they also offer a long trip around some islands further south also.
January 27, 201115 yr Author Thanks guys, I will be headed down to Phuket to see how my cousin's getting on there so will look up John Gray I reckon. Tomahawk- what was the company in Phuket you said making canadian canoes (out of interest!)? Thanks, Fred

January 31, 201115 yr Author Now that would have been a good idea- to get an inflatable canoe for the holiday! Ah well, flying out tomorrow! Sevylor Colorado's look good as well lonewolf. My link
January 31, 201115 yr I am thinking I am going to make my own canoe, but I got a pile of projects to clear off before I get into that. I definitely miss my canoe.
