Yes travelled this route many times.....best way would be Ubon to Khon Kaen via Yasothon and Roi Et ...then change buses at KK Bus Station for Udon.

Generally a regular bus, non air-con and no toilet though you may be lucky and get an air-con with toilet and TV.

Check at Ubon bus station near Big C for what is available before you travel.

If on regular bus don't sit over rear axle as it will be a bumpy ride and don't drink too much water as pit stops are only at major city bus stations on route..

Travelling time is maybe 7 to 8 hours depending on conditions. Food is available on route at bus stations.

An enjoyable fun way of travelling and meeting very friendly Isaan folk on the way!
