Nice.. Suzi enters the mix and a little more reasonable than the KTM / Duci levels..

Lets hope the other real bike isnt the Gladius.

The engine of the GSX-R1000 will produce more than 190 horsepower in A-mode fuel-mapping.

Suzuki Thailand also has the new Suzuki GSX-1300R Hayabusa K11 on stock for 830,000 Bht. For the people who are looking for a good deal, you can get a Suzuki GSX-1300R Hayabusa K9 for a special price.

And within a few weeks I will have finished the official Suzuki parts price list. Of all Suzuki Big Bike parts available in Thailand

Fantastic news!

I'm assuming the new Gixxer is being sold at Suzuki World? I see they've updated their website:

http://www.thaisuzuk...th/suzukiworld/

Any idea if the Gixxer sold in Thailand is FULL POWER or restricted? I wonder if the Suzuki sales staff even know? (The sales staff as Kawasaki's Big Bike Showroom didn't even know that the Ninja ZX10R sold in Thailand is restricted until customers started to complain...)

Awesome to have another liter bike available!

Kawasaki Ninja ZX10R (restricted :annoyed:) 650K Baht

Suzuki GSX-R (restricted or no???) 799K Baht

Yamaha R1 (FULL POWER) 870K Baht

Of the Japanese big 4 now only Honda is missing...

If the Gixxer if FULL POWER I'd take that over the R1 any day. (Though the K11 is a bit of a fat pig compared to the old K5/K6) ;)

If the new Gixxer is FULL POWER I expect it will sell very well at 799k Baht.

Ride On!

The Suzuki GSX-R1000 and GSX-1300R Hayabusa are both sold unrestricted, and the staff at Suzuki world is trained to answer most questions. Feature-more, Suzuki World has also some computers available where customers or staff can look-up technical data in the finest detail.

so which bike is the better here???

Ninja zx10- Gsxr10- R1- Hayabusa? or Ducati 848...

They are all in the same price range apart from the kawa (650k is a lot cheaper than the rest)

How badly is it restricted?

They do have more showrooms than suzuki, so is that better?

Ducati 848 puts out 140hp which should be more than enough here in Thailand, but as we all know, enough is never enough!

Which of these big bikes is the best in Thailand???

Up to you which one do you REALLY want... simple really.

(i believe 'Dunder' has a Thai ZX10, I'm not sure if he de-restricted it)

Just as with the 250cc debate, there is no correct answer.

All depends what you're looking for.

You want to race? Choose one of the liter bikes.

You want to tour? Personally I think the Gixxer is the most comfortable of the super-sports.

Yes, the Ninja ZX10R is cheap, but once you factor in the cost to de-restrict it, it's really not any cheaper than the Gixxer.

Kawasaki has more big bike service centers across the country, if that's important to you.

The Ducati 848 is a stunner, but isn't a liter bike. The Busa is a missile but isn't designed to race in anything but a straight line.

Dunder was one of the first guys who bought the ZX10R from Kawasaki Rama 9, before anyone knew that it was a restricted model. I'll let him decide if he wants to share with you the ensuing drama. It's still not full power, but it's close...

People said that about the Kwaka Mach 3 way back when....and they were right! I didn't get thrown, but I know someone who did.

i felt the same way when i bought the kawa zx12r a few years back... I was scared to ride it to begin with- but the bike was so sweet it was a joy to ride. With all that power comes alot of fun times- and many expensive wheel changes!

Hot! But... why is the price so high? Aren't import taxes down to 60% now due to the FTA with Japan? Seems like this has absolutely no effect on the price of Japanese imported bikes...

Have you seen the strength of the Japanese Yen? The US$ is down to 81 Yen/Greenback!

100 Yen is now worth almost 38 Baht! :o

The appreciation of the Yen far outweighs the reduction in import duties.

OPs pictured gixxer is US spec, and Calif spec passes LOS emission without major problems, could it be US made?

He's had that bike for about 6 months now and raced it at the last two Pirelli Track Days.

You think the S1000RR looks like a Gixxer?!

The S1000RR is a stunning machine but I rather doubt he had to pay retail price for it ;)

190 hp. The advancements in bike technology are amazing. I am still waiting for 200hp from a 1 liter engine. Of course, I really don't know how useful this power is. My lowly 2006 CBR1000rr only makes 158hp, and I can't even use most of its power. Too much throttle at a launch and it will wheelie (and if you don't back off on the throttle it will throw you off and crash). 190hp even more so of the "how am I going to even use this much power". Don't get me wrong, it's great the breakthroughs the manufacturers are making. But technological breakthroughs are still limited by the ability of the riders.

I also find it amazing that they always seem to be able to get the bike lighter, the GSX-R1000 K11 is according to Suzuki 5 kilogram (11 lb) lighter.

Who told you that?

The K11 is identical to the K9/K10 and weighs more than the K7/K8 which weighs more than the K5/K6...

The K5/K6 was the last Gixxer to lose weight. Every model since has been heavier.

K6/K6 Dry Weight: 166 kg

K7/K8 Dry Weight: 172 kg

The K7/K8 gained 14 pounds over the 2005-2006 model due to its new exhaust system and new emissions regulations.

Since 2009 Suzuki only publishes "curb weight" or wet weight rather than dry weight so I'm not sure what the Dry Weight is for the K9-K11 model GSXR, but the K9-K11's wet weight is more than the wet weight of all the previous models.

Of course, most of the extra weight on the newer models is from the cats and cans, so it's not hard to put the Gixxer on a diet and lose some weight.

Suzuki's new Gixxer K12, may be launched in late 2011 as a 2012 model and should be amazing. Rumors of a cross plane engine, traction control, launch control and race ABS abound.

The K11 is a bit old school in that it lacks all of the technological marvels that should be present in the K12. I think I'll start saving my satang now in hopes that the K12 will come to Thailand by the end of this year B)

Haven't been following the Yen but it looks like a 20% drop since 2007 - when did the FTA go into effect and what's the current rate? At any rate this could have something to do with it.

Still... the bike costs 14k in the USA, or 432k baht. Can import taxes be used as an excuse for the entire difference?

Ha! Exactly what I was thinking when I read the specs. 190 hp, holy shit... but no ABS etc.

I guess all the Jap big bike manufacturers got a huge kick in the behind by the S1000RR... a great thing all around :D

Regarding Weight. I guess both Tony and Richard are right, and only Suzuki knows how it's possible that the K11 is both 5kg lighter (as per catalog page 5) and 203kg (catalog page 3) when the K9 was also 203kg (448 lb).

I suppose Suzuki didn't say 5kg lighter than what... :P

The previous Suzuki GSX-R1000 was 205 kilogram (some Suzuki websites didn't even updated the weight of the K11 (205-203 is not 5 kilo, but still every kilo is in my book impressive)
