"Eight policemen were killed and 13 others, including six policemen, wounded in three blasts in Ramadi," a local security source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency. "The police imposed a curfew in the areas that came under attacks with improvised explosive devices and an explosive belt," the source added. One bomb attached to a civilian car parked on a main road exploded, and then a suicide bomber blew up his explosive vest among a crowd of policemen and civilians, Xinhua news agency reported. Later, another roadside bomb went off near police vehicles. Ramadi, the capital city of the predominantly Sunni province of al-Anbar, lies 110 km west of Baghdad. Insurgent attacks continue in the once volatile Sunni Arab area that stretches through al-Anbar province to Iraq's western borders with Syria, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. -- © BNO News All rights reserved 2011-02-
