LOS ANGELES (BNO NEWS) -- Actress Lindsay Lohan is expected to be charged with felony grand theft on Wednesday, entertainment news website TMZ.com reported on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old 'Mean Girls' actress is under investigation after a one of a kind necklace valued at 2,500 dollars was taken from a jewelry store in the Venice area of Los Angeles. As part of the Grand Theft investigation, Detectives with the Los Angeles Police Department's Pacific Area obtained a search warrant on February 1 for Lohan's Venice residence to search for the necklace.

Prior to service of the warrant, the necklace was returned to Pacific Detectives. But few other details have been released and the matter remains under investigation.

According to TMZ.com, citing unnamed sources, a single count of felony grand theft will be filed at Airport Court in Los Angeles on Wednesday Morning. It added that Lohan would be arraigned at 1.30 p.m. local time and she could be sent to California State prison if found guilty.
