Tax For Canopy On Truck

Hello all!, about to put a Sammitr steel canopy on the pickup. Talking to a Thai neigbour he informs me that I have to go the Amphur first to pay the extra money on the tax, I am sure he means local tax office/licencing centre!

I was going to have the canopy fitted first and then go down the tax place!

Not going to have any seats fitted, its mainly just a covered area for the dogs, I guess not too many beer chits??. Anyone know the exact amount?

Again my neighbour tells me that the police are hot on this thing here, checking your blue book when stopped.

There again here told me that Thailand was going to win the Asia cup.

You need to have pickup inspected by DLT after installing canopy, and change noted page 18. Taxes I dont know, but if any they are payed to DLT and not to Amphur

Blue book should stay home, bring a copy in car including changes noted on page 18

seats in the back on a 4 door lowers the tax. its a change from 5 seat passenger car 3,0L at 6800 baht a year, to bus (blue on white plates) low tax, 800 baht as I recall. but bus DL needed, and thai nationals only can drive these busses

however OP has a 2 door and tax is like 970 baht
