I have a son born to my thai gf. I've applied for and received American citizenship for him by filing a "Registration of a Foreign Birth" at the US Embassy. A DNA test was required. Part of that application was my signing an affadavit of support for the child. I don't plan to marry my girlfriend, and my son will grow up in Thailand, with occasional visits to my US home. I plan on spending the winters (3-4 months) close to him and be part of his life. My simple question is the name of (type of) the visa that I would be eligible for due to my Thai child. I'm of age, and have been putting money into my Thai savings account, with the goal of applying for the Retirement visa.

I'm just looking for the best way to make my visits and stays in the Kingdom as hassle free as possible. Advice would be appreciated, even though I'm sure it's been given many times before by helpful folks on TV.post-61372-0-06609500-1297579626_thumb.j

If only spending 3-4 months a year a normal non immigrant O single entry will cover 90 days and you can extend for 60 at immigration - both on basis of visiting Thai child.

If you plan to live in Thailand the retirement visa or extension of stay would likely be a better fit.

What documentation is needed at the Thai consulates to get this visa.? My daughter and son are not registered in Uk yet, but live here with me.

If i registered them in Uk would i be able to get child support?

That depends on where you apply. For a multiple non-O in Europe and Australia the birth certificate with you named as the father will be enough.

In the region you will only get a single non-O with birth certificate and maybe copy of ID-card of mother and a note from here asking for a visa for you. Only KL is known to issue multiple non-O, but requires you show 100,000 in the bank (can be abroad).

Edit: See post below. KL will not issue multiple non-O based on children.

Thai consulutes in america will issue a 1 year non immigrant visa for visting child with copy of BC and id card . Make sure u get him a us passport to make visting u easier. Also u might want to go to court and make sure u have dual custody of your son otherwise she could cut u off or hold him for barter for more$$$

I wrote and confirmed this with Houston.
