Indonesia's economic growth in Q1 could reach 6.5 percent

JAKARTA, INDONESIA (BNO NEWS) -- Indonesia's Finance Ministry on Thursday announced that the country's economic growth in the year's first quarter could reach 6.5 percent.

Bambang Permadi Soemantri Brodjonegoro, acting chairman of the country's Fiscal Policy Agency, told Viva News that between January and March, economic growth is expected to reach 6.5. percent, which would represent almost a 1 percent increase from last year's first quarter of 5.6 percent.

Furthermore, Bambang said investments and exports have been important factors into Indonesia's economic growth, but stated that the key behind the country's economic success lies on the government's ability to manage politics.
