sua yai
Reminds me of an occasion a few years ago when about 20 farangs were playing a cribbage tournament. The entrants put 100 Baht into the kitty, winner take all. The hosting establishment also put up a bottle of Thai whisky for the winner as well. Tables were just starting and the tourist police walked in "Eh, EH, what's going on here?" Six or so separate tables playing. "It's just an English game, sir. Do you want to learn the rules?" They went away. Just as well that the money was behind the bar.

Thaicoon
No I am not happy with it, its illegal and I have threatened to call the police and have the game broken up....They seem to get obsessive about the cards. She now restricts herself to Cambodian Casinos. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> My Wife plays cards, but not to often, only for 100 baht at the most, i will tell you a good one about the Thai Lady and the gambling in Cambodia, a mate of mine been with his girl for 9 years, got a baby of two, he works 3 months away from Thailand, 3 months in Thailand on vacation, on one of his visits he decided to build himself and his wife a western style house, he bought the land 2 rai, put all the concrete poles up, 2nd floor concrete, and all the steel roof trusses, then his nightmare started, he returned back to work, he then sent his wife 700,000 baht to finish the house so when he next came to Thailand they could live there, he returned, went to look at the house, it was the same condition as his previous visit, he then found out that his Thai wife and been going across into Cambodia gambling, she had gambled all of the 700,000 Baht, borrowed money from the bank for her fields, and also gambled that away, he was not a happy chapie, he has now bought a run down thai stilt house and is doing this up, and he has taken the deeds back with him. the house in question is in se sa ket. i really feel sorry for the guy, if it was me i would dump the girl, but he is worried about his child, so he has decided to stick with her, best of luck i think he will need it. Gazza
Pattaya already has casino games that are played every night in the bar areas. The 'jack' has been around for decades. A bad dose is called 'blackjack.' Sleeping bareback with multiple partners is referred to as 'russian roulette.' The more active bargirls are referred to as 'poker machines.' (or slot machines.) When a extremely versatile girl is found, it's 'bingo.' An extremely non-versatile girl will give you the 'craps.' Energetic male customers are referred to as 'stud pokers.' A big spending customer is referred to as a 'money wheel.' A twin act is referred to as 'two up.' Don't forget these. You need; A Heart to love a girl A Diamond to marry her A Club to bash her brains in with And a Spade to bury the bitch.
jayenram
FG doesn't gamble and as far as I know, never has; not even to the extent of buying lottery tickets. Last time I gambled it was on the gee gees 39 years ago.

mbkudu
Yes, the wife likes to play cards. During Songkran especially is when things get going. When we first got married I used to hate it. After 11 years I've given up whining about it. She has won loads of money, so I can't complain much. When we lived together in Bangkok I saw her taken away in a police pickup from our apartment on two different occaisions. The fine is not that much and she was back within 5 or 6 hours. I felt that I had to really tear into her verbally, but when the entire apartment is outfitted with new furniture and a nice sound system from her gains, there's not much that can be said.
