Somali pirates Slaughtered four hostages yesterday- the first time they have killed Western holiday-makers in cold blood.

The American Victims a married couple and two pals on a round the world adventure- were shot dead four days after their pleasure boat was hijacked.

Its is a terrifying development because pirates usually keep their hostages alive to demand big ransoms.

Scott Adams 70, Wife Jean 66, from California and friend Bob Riggle,67, and Phyllis Macay,59. were captured in the Indian ocean on there way to Oman.

Four US war ships trailed their boat after its hijack. It is thought the pirates fired a rocket at one but missed-then gunfire-erupted on board the boat.

Navy Seals-Special forces-stormed the Vessel and killed two Pirates,one with a knife,But the friends were dead.

Thirteen pirates were held, and Investigates are trying to find out if they had started arguing among themselves - Triggering the Blood bath. A Navel insider said "Pirates are usually after a payday.Killing captives makes no sense."Everyone pays this isn't some deadly new tactic.
