Kindly Need Clarification On Applying 4 New Uk Passport From Thailand

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I would really appreciate some clarification on the CORRECT Steps needed to successsfully receive New UK Passport - (Otherwise funds as they state if incorrect details are supplied are non - refundable).

Note: (My visa expires in 14 Days - should have been done earlier ((Its Full)) - my mistake - What if when/if they issue new one they find out I am overstaying - will it be passed?)

From my understanding I:

1: Fill out (for a new 32 page pp) : http://centralcontent.fco.gov.uk/resources/en/pdf/central-content-pdfs/form-c1

2. Send payment form to : http://ukinhongkong.fco.gov.uk/resources/en/pdf/17274209/credit-card-authorisation.pdf

3. Submit a clear photocopy of your passport (just the page with your personal details and photograph).

4. PHOTO'S - ONLY ONE PHOTO NEEDED? Whereby Section 9 asks for countersignatory details? - Do i Not need to send another?

5. DHL: Use: http://ukinhongkong.fco.gov.uk/resources/en/pdf/17274209/dhl-locations-thailand.pdf - Do I need to present any other info?

6. Send to:

British Consulate-General

RPPC - 5th Floor

1 Supreme Court Road

Hong Kong

On a sidenote: When leaving the country with new passport (touch wood) - and I will have potentially overstayed a bit I take it I bring both passports - probably stupid question. Just out of curiosity - what if someone had lost or had passport stolen and present new passport - Take it they know when u originally came. No I don't intend to do this but as stated just curious.

Thanks so much in advance if anyone can advise if this procedure is correct?

The correct procedure can be found on the Hong Kong consulate general's page How to apply from Thailand (Renewals).

I renwed my British passport recently and used the procedure you outlined. You didn't mention the bank debit form that you have to download and fill out as well if paying by credit card. I sent 2 photos and got one back so only 1 needed. In terms of your visa you don't say what type it is but I would assume that you will have to pay the overstay part from when it expires to when you receive your new visa. It states four weeks but I got mine back in two weeks. I now have to get my retirement visa put into the new passport which I am told is free.

Good luck.
