Passport Stamp To Pay For As Well In The Future?

Recommended Posts

I looked for some posts that might provide me with an answer, but haven't found any so far.

I ve read that you will start having to pay again for tourist visa, starting from the 1st of April 2011. But what about a simple passport stamp?

My non-immigrant visa expires the 10th of April, after which I ll officially be a tourist. Now here's the deal.

I m going to Malaysia, stay there a couple of days after which I want to get back into Thailand as I have a flight to Hanoi 2 weeks later. A passport stamp should do as this covers 14 or 15 days. But will it be necessary to pay for the stamp as well?

Moreover, 12 days later I ve got a flight to Bangladesh, meaning I ll be in Bkk for 2 days. Stamp again! Another 12 days later I have to be back in Bkk to get another flight, so: Stamp again!

I sure do hope it is not necessary to pay for a stamp, or I ll lose some money I could easily spend on better things :-)

Does anyone know more about this? And if it is necessary to pay for the stamp, maybe it s a good idea to get a double entry tourist-visa?

Thanks for the advice!

Depends on what you are calling a passport stamp and which country you come from. If from one of the countries that are elgible for visa exempt entries, then nothing will change, 30 day stay if entering by air, and 15 days by land entry. The free Tourist Visas are just a temporary measure.

Since I'm part of this list, I guess I'm going for a visa exempt entry stamp smile.gif. I just thought that starting from the 1st of April 2011, we would need to pay as well..
