You're probably right, the only time I have difficulties with them is after lowering myself and responding to your baiting.

Well perhaps we all should cut out the dramatics, and concentrate on an intelligent well informed give and take discussion. Most people would welcome that.

I'm always in favor of that as long as it doesn't entail personalizing posters with derogatory and insulting terminology.

Fortunately, it's only a few people that can't differentiate between making negative comments regarding public figures and disparaging members.

Even a conciliatory overture is treated with contempt.Ah well.

"Protests will take place on March 12 and again on March 19 to demand justice for the 150 red shirts still in remand," said Thida Thawornseth, acting chairwoman of the red-shirt movement.

The perennially lying Red Shirts fudge on their promise to stay to one rally per month...

The always honest Jatuporn strikes again...

BANGKOK, January 24

Red Shirt co-leader and Opposition MP Jatuporn Prompan said the UDD would adjust their strategy and protest only once a month in the future to avoid making trouble for the public.

and since going from one rally to two rallies per month isn't quite a big enough lie, they've bumped it up to three rallies this month...

And another Red Shirt rally even sooner...

Thai "red-shirts" plan to organize massive rally in Lopburi on March 6

An anti-government or the "red- shirt" coordinator in central Lopburi province said on Tuesday that the group plans to organize massive rally on March 6 from 06: 00 p.m. local time. Police Colonel Chukiat Duangchana, the co-leader of "red-shirt" movement in Lopburi, said that an estimated 25,000 supporters from the central region as well as others are expected to turn out on that day.

Stage speech delivered by recently released leaders -- Nutthawut Saikua and Weng Tojirakarn -- would highlight the activity on that day, according to Chukiat. Nutthawut Saikua and Weng Tojirakarn are among seven detained "red-shirt" leaders who were released temporarily on bails by the Criminal Court on Feb. 22 which banned them from leaving the country or inciting their supporters to stir unrest.

So now that's Red Shirt Rallies on March 6th (btw, how "massive" was yesterday's rally?),

Anyone heard how yesterdays "massive" went off?

Nothing on the news.

I live in the, shall we say catchment area, of lop buri and the local red shirt contingent had their usual nightly meeting here both last night and tonight, all 8 or 10 of them.

MP candidates for the red-shirt group? Is this a new political party? Or is this candidates for MP of any political party? Now that would be a good move towards reconciliation :)

Unfortunately I'm afraid the correct answer is PTP MP candidates, the party led from afar by a person who doesn't know any red-shirts. How cynical can one get

I noticed the Lopburi head of the Red Shirts is a Police Colonel, and even though sometimes the police have been known to fudge a bit with the truth, if he said 25,000 Reds would be there, I'm sure they were.

It could also mean Sae Daeng's Khattiyam Party MP candidates, the party that was until recently, led from afar by a person who was a wanted terrorist fugitive, but since its run by his daughter now, it's respectable.

It's good the Reds have more than 1 choice when it comes to parties.

It's understood they've also teamed up with the Alzheimer's division to work on their rally chant:

"What do we want?"

"We don't know!"

"When do we want it?"

"What?"

The confused among you: there is nothing worthy of intelligent discussion here, why force it. They've broken the law, again, so bang them back up, again.

Bailed Red-Shirt Leaders to Take Rally Stage

Red-shirt core leaders, who were recently released on bail, are set to take the group's rally stage this Saturday, affirming their speeches will not violate their bail conditions.

Red-shirt core leader Nutthawut Saikua said he and other core elements who have been released on bail will deliver speeches which will be regular political comments on the group's rally stage during its mass demonstration on March 12.

Nutthawut ensured they will abide by the court's bail conditions and not provoke rally-goers to create chaos or prolong the gathering.

He said his group is attempting to expand its network ahead of the upcoming general election.

Nutthawut went on to say Pheu Thai executives will decide whether to field him in the election.

He stated he has contacted two other red-shirt core figures, Arisman Pongruangrong and Suporn Atthawong, who remain at large, and claimed they are preparing to turn themselves in to the authorities.

Meanwhile, the Criminal Court today held a hearing into the witness testimonies of the case in which public prosecutors charged seven red-shirt elements for their role in the turmoil at the residence of Privy Council President General Prem Tinsulanonda during their protest there.

Among the defendants are four of the group's core elements, namely its former chairman Weera Musikapong, Nutthawut Saikua, Wiphuthalaeng Patthanaphumthai and Weng Tojirakarn.

The prosecutors charged them with attempting to incite chaos, resisting the authorities and disobeying officials' orders.

Red-shirt lawyer Jessada Jandee said his clients will petition the court to re-examine the list of witnesses submitted by the prosecutors.

He said some of those witnesses have not been approved by the legal team of the defendants.

Missed the diner info first time. To avoid double standards a petition should be lodged with the Election Commission to investigate this political dinner. Certain donors may be promising heaven on earth.

Pheu Thai calls for probe into Democrat dinner

The Pheu Thai Party on Tuesday lodged a petition calling for probe into the fund-raising dinner organised by the Democrat Party.

The main opposition party said the Election Commission should investigate suspicious campaign contributions solicited at the dinner party.

"Certain donors reportedly have less than Bt1 million earnings but contributed over Bt1 million to the Democrats," Pheu Thai deputy spokesman Jirayu Huangsap said.

Nutthawut

He stated he has contacted two other red-shirt core figures, Arisman Pongruangrong and Suporn Atthawong, who remain at large, and claimed they are preparing to turn themselves in to the authorities.

His co-defendant terrorist suspect Jatuporn talked about it last month and indicated they will turn themselves at the end of this month.

What takes them so long?

Are they walking back from Cambodia?

well, well, well... after 3 years, 7 months, and 14 days, it's promising that action is now being taken on the first of the three sets of charges the Red Shirt Leaders are facing. The other set of charges are from 1 year, 11 months ago and from 11 months ago.

At this proportional rate, they'll be in court until 2015 on their latest mayhem charges.

No wonder they are anxious to get Parliamentary immunity.

Will those two fugitive red-shirts UDD leaders still surrender to police during the free concert at Bonanza Resort on Khao Yai on March 26 ?

K. Arisman could sing a song while there, like his all time favorite 'I burned it my way' :)

The Bonanza Resort will no doubt be hosting a number of the dreaded "elite" if their hotel rates are any indication.

I don't imagine very many of the rural Issan poor will be staying in their 6,000 baht per night rooms, but then again, maybe they'll just comp all their rooms for free.

Ex-Thai PM Thaksin to address the rally Saturday: red-shirt leader

BANGKOK -- Fugitive former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra will speak in a video conference to the anti-government "red shirt" protestors at its rally on Saturday, a red- shirt leader said on Wednesday. Jatuporn Prompan, the red-shirt leader and opposition Puea Thai MP, said apart from Thaksin's phone-in, many red-shirt core members would appear on stage to address the crowd, Bangkok Post online reported. Worawut Wichaidit, spokesman for the red-shirt, said that the March 12 rally would begin at 3 p.m. local time at the Democracy Monument and would not be carried on for too long.

In the rally, the red shirts would converge at the Ratchaprasong intersection at 1 p.m. local time before moving to the Democracy Monument. Another red-shirt leader Thida Thavornseth said she expected the red shirts to turn out in a larger number than before to see the seven core members recently released on bail. Police Major-General Kreerin Inkaew, Deputy Chief of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, said about 1,200 police would be deployed to maintain law and order on Saturday. He expected the rally to draw about 30,000 red shirts and to end about 1 a.m. local time on the following day.

Thaksin to talk via video-link during UDD’s rally on Saturday

BANGKOK, 10 March 2011 (NNT) – Ex-Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra will appear in a video link to the gathering of the United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD) on 12 March 2011 at the Democracy Monument.

UDD Acting Spokesperson Worawut Wichaidit confirmed that seven UDD core leaders who were recently granted release on bail will give speeches individually while Mr Thaksin will also address the crowd in a video-link.

Mr Worawut also elaborated that UDD supporters will start marching on that day at around 15.00 hrs but the specific time to wind up the activity has not been scheduled yet. He however confirmed that the upcoming street-protest would not be prolonged.

The spokesperson then announced that the UDD will assemble once again on 19 March 2011 in order to mark the 10-month anniversary on the government’s crackdown on the group at Ratchaprasong Intersection in Bangkok.

As for other political activities, Mr Worawut detailed that a free concert of UDD core leaders will be arranged on 26 March at Khao Yai in Nakhon Ratchasima, and training will be conducted for 1,500 UDD leaders nationwide on 9 April in order to prepare them for another mass rally on 10 April.
