Computer Extremely Slow Start-Up

Featured Replies

Got a brand new laptop, just 2 months old. Win7 Ultimate. Since a while it is extremely slow when waking up from hibernation or at start-up. LOTS of hard drive activities. Once the computer is up and running, it performs normally.

The entire HDD is encrypted with TruCrypt, but so are the other computers in the office that do not have this problem.

I did already the obvious, checking for unnecessary programs and so on, didn't do the trick.

Any idea what this could be?

Check your hibernation settings --maybe the computer is resorting to the settings under hibernations and thats why it takes so long

Had similar problem.

Check your system interrupts.

I had interrupts with I/O to hard drive.

The week after the motherboard died. :(
