Whenever I am typing in MS Office 97 it tries to pre-empt what I am going to do. e.g. if I start a sentence with a number , perhaps if I am making a list, it forces the next number in sequence onto the next line I type. If I hit return a couple of times I get empty lines but numbered ones. It also tries to force it's idea of the date format on me.

How can I stop this happening please?

Tools, autocorrect, autoformat.
