Net profits earned by companies listed on MAI surge in 2010

BANGKOK, Mar 8 – Net profits earned by all companies listed on the Market for Alternative Investment (MAI) in 2010 surged by 45.69 per cent from the previous year’s despite impacts of the political violence in the first half of last year, according to MAI President Chanitr Charnchainarong.

He said listed companies on MAI, which are small- and medium-sized, enjoyed higher sales when the political situation improved in the second half of last year.

They managed to keep initial profits at the rate of 22.32 per cent, resulting in net profits earned overall by the companies for the whole year increasing by 45.69 per cent.

Top five companies enjoying hefty profits include Goldfine Manufacturing, ACAP Advisory, Kiattana Transport, TRC Construction, and the Brooker Group.

In addition, 11 companies were found enjoying higher sales and a profit growth of more than 100 per cent.

Six companies managed to turn losses into profits including CM Organizer, Chu Kai, Pico, Thai Mitsuwa, TRC Construction, and Three Sixty Five. (MCOT online news)
