Checking the Web sites on where i can take my Thai GF this summer while she is staying in the uk and Cuba seems to be a place that i can take her on a package holiday, Just a couple of things.

1. I think she needs travel insurance against taking ill , so that maybe difficult!!!

I have been to cuba before and its a very nice place to visit, But i am limited to where we can go.

I do think that Goa maybe a choice.

What i am looking for is a holiday for a week thats not Thailand or the UK.

I know that its been talked about in the past on where peple can go without a Visa, But i have not heard of any travel storys on Hoildays when a thai person is on holiday in the uk and have gone abroad with their partner

Cuba is awesome, perhaps you can buy a ticket to Canada then use itravel2000 or one of many many online tour operators that will sell you the insurance. Packages from Canada to Cuba are cheap and are all inclusive, flight time is only 3 hours.

Varadero is tops in my mind and is close enough to Havana. At that time of year only Canadians, Spanish and British---No Americans ever.

If you are willing to go extreme, Brasil would be my next choice, Sao Paulo is like no other as is Rio and Foz Di Iguassu is a must see, would be nice to see it before the World Cup takes over. And there is no need for a Visa for Thai Nationals. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visa_requirements_for_Thai_citizens

With some planning perhaps you can book Bangkok to Brasil with a stop over in LHR on the outbound and if needed return.

Didn't you get travel / medical insurance to take her from Thailand to UK?

Maybe that will cover Cuba also? If not maybe you can contact the broker / company in Thailand and have it extended?

What visa does she have for UK? Maybe if she leaves she will need to get another to return?

Cuba is great, but Varadero is limited to only foreigners. They keep the locals out, which makes it great if you only want to lay on the beach and do day trips to Havana...but you miss the true flavor of the country. And plenty of Americans there...I've been 3 times along with my friends. If you want to really experience Cuba, get a casa particular in Havana. Go to Gato Negro for some great jazz. Visit the old town. It's fantastic. But, the food is pretty bad once you leave the resorts. Eating with the locals is an interesting experience.

Traveling with Thai partner is tough. Getting visas for many countries is impossible. It's easy here in Asia, but more difficult elsewhere. I'm pretty sure Russia has a liberal policy with Thailand. I did find this:

Camaguay and Santa Lucia is beautiful and tour companies offer many all inclusive deals with maybe one night in Havana and the a flight to Camaguay......great beaches, as safe as Thailand, teletext used to have great deals especially if your booking last minute...most companies have a freephone number also and will fill you in on insurance. ...check out the weather for when you are going as they do get some pretty bad storms

My GF didn't get travel insurance, If she gets ill, My doctor will see to her!!!!

Regardsing getting into cuba, I believe you have to show your Travel insurance, Its been 8 years since my visit to cuba and travelled quite alot while i was there and yes, it's great apart from the mosquitoes.

I would like to take her somewhere that is totally different to thailand and the UK.

Thank you for your replys
