I was wondering if it's possible to extend my non-immigrant visa while I am waiting for official paperwork. My employer has to obtain something from one of the government departments but I don't think it will be ready before the visa expires. Someone mentioned that they thought I could get an extra 7 days. If so, do I apply using the standard TM7 form (photo, 2000 baht etc..) at immigration?

Thanks in advance for your advice

a 7 day extension is the only possibility and it will be up to immigration to give you the extension or not. It is not something they will do automatic.

As it is not a real extension, it will start from the day you apply for it. If they refuse you, which is a real possibility, you will have to apply for a new visa abroad.

It will need a good reason and they might want some evidence that you will get the paperwork within those 7 days.
