I thought I would try out the breakfast so drove over there from Nathon. SHUT!!!

It helps a business do well if they can actually open up before 2pm in the afternoon

Not the best of starts to a prospective new customer :o

Roo you only get to see that they are closed on Monday if you actually stop the car and get out to go look. Maybe it would have been better for them to have mentioned the fact they are closed on Monday on their sponsorship posting ?

Why closed on Monday anyway ?

Fixed, added times to original sponsorship advert. Why close Monday? Perhaps because they want to, need a day off, whatever I suppose. Many restaurants or businesses close 1 day a week,

Perhaps people like a day off. Come on, why such a strong reaction? But seeing as you are so vexed i think you should be reminded that it was the tour business that was being advertised as sponsor. others came on it seems specially to say how good the food was. ;)

I had a lovely breakfast (SET 2 by the way) this morning. And no. i am not the owner, a shareholder or have financial involvement in the place in case anyone was wondering. :)

They are closed on Mondays, says so on the door.

For the travel section. That needs to be open every day. people might ve having problems with tickets or tours that the company has sold them and they have to wait an extra day before they do something by that time it might be too late.

There are many travel agencies on the island that are open 7 days a week from morning till night. the answer is simple emplyee more staff.

Sorry but having a day off is one thing but closing the whole shop is a bad move even if u have to rotate people around then so be it but for me i stick to shops with 7 days a week times.

Also there are allot of tours for sale that would be lost due to closer on a day of the week.

I'm all for people having a day off. But you need to tell people just when your day off is  If he chooses to have Monday off then great.

MON - SUN WE ARE SHUT ALL DAY MONDAY

And what would be the reaction if I had gone over there to book 20 people on a snorkelling trip to Ang Thong and not just for breakfast? I actually used TK for that but may have asked for a quote ?

As said how many other potential customers did what I did that don't use TV ?

As for the hostile reaction to me mentioning the fact the place was shut ? Just makes me even less likely to go back again to try it.

What hostile reaction? All that was said they can also have days off & the omission of trading times in the advert will be fixed.

Poached eggs?

I'm glad you brought this up as I was worried the OP might fry me for saying it but I do mine in water thats been reduced to a simmer...taken off the heat...eggs straight in and leave for 8 mins...remove with slotted spoon and serve on toast with plenty of black pepper and a dollop of english mustard.

Just don't tell Dunc.

Welcome Sweeney Todd.

Sweeneytodds is pleased to be a sponsor of thai visa.

Thank you to all of you who wrote nice things about our cafe bar, i wish i knew who you were.

Sweeney todds have a cafe/ bar and travel agency.

As some of you have mentioned about the quality of our food, i have to agree with them.

I have been living in samui for nearly ten years, and i can honestly say our bacon, and sausages, white and black puddings are the best on the island, we have them delivered fresh from Bangkok.

I own the shop outright, and i can pass on cheaper prices to the customer.

We charge only 160baht for a full english breakfast, which consists of

egg, bacon, sausage, beans, tomato, 2 toast, and tea coffee or juice 160 baht

You also get to read an english paper while you are eating

We have fish&chips at 200 baht

pies, mash,or chips with gravy for 210 baht

home made beef and chicken burgers with chips and salad for only 180 baht

And many more on the menus.

Yes we are closed on mondays for now, we like to have a day of a week in the lower tourist season. But do not worry about travel arrangements as both nuni and myself are available by phone, and we have had no problems with any customers with this arrangement.

As big c says we will lose customers on the day we close, well big c we can cope with that.

Yes h2o dunc we should have mentioned we close on mondays i apologise to you and anyone else, who came

And now the travel agency, we are hoping in the near future to arrange special day trips, fishing and boating and safari days at cost price to thai visa members, and you dont have to give away your identity, just come in and book like any other customer.

Feel free to come in and see us for a coffee, of beer, or food or get a quote for travel, looking forward to seeing you

Welcome Sweeney. Will have to drop in for some grub one day, sounds good. Maybe I'll even end up booking a trip whilst I'm in culinary heaven :D

1 quick suggestion - your breakfast should include tea/coffee AND juice :)

set2 ,and set4 and 5 does.At 160 baht theres not much profit as there is
