hi there

for easy and medium cost option, look for a Canon or Epson highend flatbed scanner with a film attachmnet. quality is okay, but not super. you can tell the images are scanned - high contrast. on the other hand, it is very integrated with all kinds of image retouching . . .

for a better quality, look for a film scanner - I used to work with a Nikon Coolscan film scanner, but they are discontinued now.

I also have lots of old film stuff I would like to scan.

Has anybody actually bought a film scanner here? Where can you buy one?

I ask

Sorry I lost the connection half way through typing that.

It should read:

I asked in a couple of Photo shops before in Phuket and got no more than a blank stare.

I used an Epson flat bed scanner before (with film attachment) but it was very time consuming.

Is a dedicated film scanner any better? If so, where can you buy and how much?
