Inexpensive Gift For Bar Girl

Thanks for all the replies - the genuine and comic alike :)

I don't think going out for dinner, or getting her a night off will be a "gift" per say as she will be missing the opportunity to pick up a punter. She's rather the cash. I'd have to not only pay the bar fine but the "hourly rate" too...... which isn't going to happen on principle. But thanks for the effort in replying.

She doesn't have a kid.

As long as I have spent here, I honestly can't think of anything small that a BG would be pleased to receive.......

I probably just won't bother..... sometimes a half-measure attempt is worth less than none.

i have something small she might like :whistling:

Ideal solution for you there - introduce her to Cardholder. Not only will she be gratefull to be introduced to such a gent but, if you play your cards right, it won't cost you anything either. Unfortunately, if he is that small, he might not make too much of an impression though!

Oh Orac! - and you started off so nicely.

I was referring to my Toy poodle ! The poodle as been referred to as something with beauty and no brains. Not sure how we can relate that back to the thread :whistling:

Remember, it is always the thought that counts.

I tried that one with my wife but she still insists that cash beats thoughts every time.

Most Thais like seafood. You could give her crabs.

Not to go off topic but I find it strange that I have never gotten crabs in Thailand. I got them three times with Western woman (non professional) but never in Thailand. Has anyone ever gotten crabs here? Ya ya I know all the kids get head lice because I used to be a teacher and saw treatment almost daily. So I know lice exist in large amounts here but I have never seen crabs.

Never in my life - anywhere - thank God.

Back when I used to "play" here in LOS, I always found the P-4-P girls were, eerrrmmmmm, shaven...... and pretty scrupulous and thorough in the showering routine..... would that perhaps be a factor..... I'm pretty ignorant in the matter of "STD" type things to be honest (I know carbs are an "STD" per say, but you know what I mean).

From my experience (long time ago) ;) , these stuffed toys seem to go over well, especially the really big ones.

Lots of the time I give them crabs...

Along with a few other goodies...

But, most of the Thai bar gals I know are VERY happy with a 1000 baht note tucked in a nice card. They can spend it on something I would never choose.

buying a gift for a woman who is just doing her job? do you do this for a waitress where you get your lunch or your local 7-11? I would say don't bother, she is being nice to you cause it's her job to keep the customers happy & she remembers your drink cause she is good at it. Say happy birthday to her & give her a 50 baht tip when she brings you one of your usual.

As a matter of fact, I DO give gifts to waitresses where I eat regularly. Sometimes it's an extra large tip and other times it is a nice photo. And, I have no intention on starting any sort of relationship. To them it just means I appreciate what they are doing. I've even bought a waitress a new cel phone complete with time on it when I found out she lost hers. I ask and expect for nothing in return.

I get pleasure from random acts of kindness and it costs so very little to make someone's day. Some people can't understand that, but that is THEIR problem, not mine.

I think some people just like to vent their spleen and take their moral prejudices out for a bit of exercise from time to time. If the question had been "inexpensive gift for the security man" or "...7-11 clerk", or "... nurse who saved my son's life", I doubt there would have been quite the same ill-feeling. And yet I understand that social escorts often earn quite a bit of affection from their clients,

"" Just to put it in context, there is nothing "sexual" going on, and we both know there never will be (well that's in my court I suppose, but there won't).

She none the less is very good to me, know's my drink, makes sure service is prompt etc. and keeps me company when she's not oterwise "busy". "'

Confide in her as the friend you want her to be by letting her be the first to know that you are gay. She probably already knows by the way.

Then take her out dancing and make an appointment tomorrow to go shoe shopping together.

If you-re not comfortable with that, . I'd go for the pork scratchings .

Go to a different bar and ask the BG's there to form a committee to choose the gift and more importantly what it will mean. BG's will drive themselves crazy trying to figure out what a particuar gift MEANS.

Call it the gift of insanity..

Not much pubic hair? Alot of ladies shave so no where to hide too :)

I think I have been here too long. This is not normal!

To the op: I re-read post #1. Since you hardly know the lady, a card and a birthday kiss should be sufficient. Anything more and you are digging yourself a hole. Well my tuppence worth.

I would hand over the card and add 500 Baht to her birthday garland. She can buy what she wants then.
