Dutch Man Jailed For 16 Months In Singapore

Featured Replies

Fully agree with the above verdict.

Lets hope when he gets out he has learnt an expensive lesson ;)

How did he manage to get on the plane in the first place if he was very drunk? surely the ground staff could have stopped the idiot.

No excuse for being an obnoxious, aggressive and *physical* jerk on a confined plane.

This guy's an adult.

He bought the ticket.

Let him rot for 16 months, then give him the boot.

This will probably put him on a terrorist watch list and stuff any traveling up for the future. 37 years old and no brain.

You could also try the airport's security staff for stupidity and sentence them to an appropriate sentence. Even I, with a lifetime of self-inflicted brain damage, am capable of identifying and removing a drunken sailor from a flight and then taking off again. Rescreening all the passengers and another round of security sweep for the plane? Security theater madness! I would have expected more common sense from the Singaporeans. (The U.S. and the U.K., not at all.)

I see that making a bomb threat is worth S$100,000 but a kick in the Family Jewels is only worth S$5000

BTW, "I am a millionaire." (Using the same reasoning as applied in this case, my proclamation of such would make it highly probable that I am indeed a millionaire.) Quick! Investigate all my bank accounts.

This is what he gets trying to be funny to Singapore. serve him right... cheers......
